By aligning with the UN's Millennial Development Goals, IGL has adopted the following objectives:
- To provide basic health care services and to reduce the mortality and morbidity rates.
- To decrease the occurrence of preventable diseases through antenatal/postnatal care, immunization, growth care and prevention of malnutrition among children.
- To educate people about sexually transmitted diseases.
- To promote thrift groups and to involve them in income-generating activities to increase family income.
- To encourage environmental protection.
- To teach village sanitation and help prevent mosquito-borne diseases and communicable diseases
- To involve the community in sustainable resource management.
- To empower women through micro-credit loans and skills training in areas such as garment-making, basketry and bee-keeping.
- To portray the village church as the life-radiating center by encouraging the communities in and around the church through the love of Christ.
Rural & Economic Development
IGL initiates the transformation of rural villages in India through education, vocation, health care and spiritual training to enable villagers to create for themselves a self-sustainable future and improve socio-economic conditions in rural areas.
Regardless of caste, creed, religion or economic status, villagers are trained to make and manage income, build village infrastructure through clean water wells, raising livestock, developing housing and more.
Clean Water Well
Your gift toward a clean water well will cut a village’s child death rate in half and eliminate the need to collect infected, polluted surface or stream water.

Sewing machine
Due to the immense amount of work it takes to run a home with no electricity or running water on an insufficient income, many rural women stay home to care for their families and homes. Your gift will enable a woman, or group of women, to tailor from home and provide care for their children at the same time.
Home for Children or Families in Need
Millions of families and children live in dilapidated huts made with a thatched roof and mud floors that are easily destroyed during monsoon season.
Life Center
The purpose of a Life Center reaches far beyond its congregation. The building is also used as a daycare center, school, vocational training center, medical outreach post and community center.
Micro-credit Business Loan
Enable a woman living in extreme poverty with a small loan and support to start a business that will sustain her and her family. When the loans are paid back, they are recycled to other women. Your one-time gift could be given hundreds of times!
Livestock
Livestock does much more than feed the families that receive it. The animals provide the family with additional income by providing offspring and dairy products that can be sold for a profit.
Adopt-a-village
Your gift will enable the transformation of an entire village through evangelism, medical care, children’s ministries and rural and economic development.

Adult Literacy
In India, only 52 percent of the population can read and write. The literacy rate among rural women is just 10 percent.
Skills Centers and Training
Students who complete IGL programs are in high demand and earn a reasonable wage, allowing graduates to provide for their families and escape the cycle of poverty.
