Medical Outreach

In the isolated and remote villages of India, many have to walk miles before they can be treated for illness. In light of this, IGL provides free or affordable medical care through village clinics and a hospital referral system.

Teams of doctors, nurses, paramedics and other medical personnel from the U.S. are an integral part of bringing aid to these rural clinics. To find out more about being a part of a medical team, click here.

About Sharon Hospital

On February 25, 1994, India Gospel League formalized a fundamental part of its medical outreach program by registering the Sharon Medical and Charitable Trust under the Indian Trusts Act of 1882. This trust aims to provide quality medical care through the Sharon General Hospital. Sharon Hospital provides free or affordable treatment and transportation for those referred from village clinics or living in or around Salem and unable to afford treatment.

The need for trained health workers is great in rural India. IGL operates a nursing and a bio-medical technician program at Sharon Community College to train young people to medically care for others. Many students who graduate from Sharon Community College return to their villages to use their newly acquired skills to help those who need it most.
